Here's the thing...I love swag. I have lots o' swag. I love getting bookmarks and pens and postcards and pins, etc., from my favorite authors. But I have to say, I have a stockpile now. I have a basket of bookmarks and pens on my nightstand. I have a mug of pens on my desk. And I have a little swag here and a little swag there on my bookshelves. What I'm wondering is...what do y'all do with swag? I'd like some way to display it but my mind draws a blank when I consider how to go about it.

Also, I brought home A LOT of swag from the RT conference I went to in May. I've gone through it all and taken what I wanted...you know, one of everything! ;) And now I have gallon-size ziplocs of swag. Do y'all think a giveaway would go over well?? I mean, do y'all like swag as much as I do?? :)

  1. LOL, I try to stay away from swag, even if I totally love it. I have so many things everywhere, and so do all the other people who live with me! I think my husband might actually be the worst :D I think a giveaway is a great idea, though, because then you could share some of those goodies with your fellow bloggers ;)

    1. I wish I'd have stayed away, Lexxie! LOL Alas, I have tons and it's all lovely and I don't want to just chuck it. I do have a few books I can offer as well. Hmm, I'll have to put something together. :)

  2. Yes, giveaway time! I love swag! I have a cup full of bookmarks that I sift through every time I start a new book because I love choosing just the right bookmark. I won swag once, a T-shirt with the book cover on it, pen, sticky notes, and a bookmark. The first time I wore the shirt John's eyes lit up. "Wow, is that new? It's beautiful." He got that from me. Great TOL, Brandee!

    1. Oh wonderful! I'm so glad I'm not alone, Robyn! ;) And when I'm not reading on an ereader, I do that same thing with my bookmarks - for exactly the same reason! *ha* And I love that you have a little swag-lover, too! ;)

  3. LOL I have the exact same problem here. I have loads of swags and well they're piling up pretty high for my taste. /and yes I do give them away on giveaways but I add in book prizes as the main dish and the swags as the sides. I also give them out at libraries and stash them at book stores, that have the author. So yea, you can do almost anything you want.

  4. I haven't had much experience with receiving swag, unfortunately. I think all of the ideas above are very good, people always love giveaways!
